In 1976, Dennis Rainey and his wife Barbara cofounded FamilyLife®, a ministry of Cru®. From that founding through 2017, Dennis’ leadership enabled FamilyLife to grow into a global ministry that has presented the gospel and biblical blueprints for marriages and families in more than 109 countries.
Dennis has authored or coauthored with his wife Barbara more than 35 books, including several bestsellers. Their recent book The Art of Parenting was a Christian Book Award winner in the Christian Living category. His books and Bible studies have sold more than 10 million copies and have been translated into 47 languages.
For over 26 years, Dennis hosted the nationally syndicated radio program FamilyLife Today® heard on more than 1,300 radio outlets in all 50 states and in dozens of countries worldwide. This program was the recipient of the National Religious Broadcasters’ Radio Program of the Year Award three times. Dennis also serves on the Board of Directors and Board of Regents of Dallas Theological Seminary.
Dennis and Barbara have been married since 1972 and love laughing with their six children, their spouses, and 26 grandchildren. In his spare time, Dennis enjoys helping Barbara in her ministry, EverThineHome.com, and their garden. He also delights in reading great books and pursuing his passions for hunting and fishing. They live near Little Rock, Arkansas, and continue to serve families through TheRaineys.org.
Jessie stopped short, exclaiming “What was that?” Jessie learns that even though there are difficult things in this world because of sin, God has a plan.
