Matthew Belwood, born in Evansville, IN, is husband to his lovely wife Jessica and dad to two incredible boys. He throughly enjoys family life as well as vocational ministry with Youth for Christ Deaf Teen Quest. A graduate of Kentucky Christian University, he holds both BS and MA degrees specializing in Bible, Youth Ministry and Counseling. Matthew has served with Deaf Teen Quest since its inception in 2000. Starting in Cincinnati, OH with Christ's Church of the Deaf and St. Rita School for the Deaf, Matthew's experience included roles as a Deaf Education teacher, Deaf Church Youth Minister, Behavior Intervention Specialist, as well as Adjunct Professor at Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati. During this time in Cincinnati, Matthew began his journey with Deaf Teen Quest as a volunteer and continued moving up the ranks, eventually accepting roles as area coordinator and regional coordinator until 2011, when he assumed the position of Associate National Director. In 2013, Matthew then moved to Louisville, KY and in June of 2017, after a rigorous process of discernment by Youth for Christ, Matthew Belwood transitioned into his current role as National Director for Deaf Teen Quest. Matthew's passion is to see teams of caring Christian adults come alongside Deaf and Hard of Hearing teenagers in authentic Christ-sharing relationships.
