Nicole is a seasoned librarian with almost 25 years of experience working across public, academic, music, and private libraries. With a deep love for the printed word and a passion for connecting people with information, she has made it her mission to turn every library in which she’s worked into a place where knowledge can come alive. Yes, she has been known to don a beekeeping suit or a cowboy hat and boots when reading to her students!
Nicole holds a bachelor’s degree in both elementary education and Bible from Baptist Bible College and a master’s in library and information science with a focus on cataloging from Wayne State University. With this unique blend of education and expertise, she has spent decades shaping library programs and resources that serve people of all ages and backgrounds. Nicole is passionate when it comes to parent/child partnerships regarding book content and how publishers can change text. She is the author of “Why Good Cataloging Is Good Customer Service” (Public Libraries 56, no. 3 [May/June 2017]).
When she is not creating riddles that lead to library treasure, Nicole assists her husband in youth ministry (2001–current), helping guide young minds in spiritual growth, and is the mom of a grown daughter. And with all the extra time in her life (one can dream!), you’ll find her creating Bible studies, reading a wide range of books, and traveling to new places, her favorite being the Czech Republic. Whether it’s helping a child discover a new favorite book or guiding them in their development of biblical muscles to strengthen spiritual discernment, Nicole is always looking for ways to inspire others to grow and learn.
Answers in Genesis is an apologetics ministry, dedicated to helping Christians defend their faith and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ.
