Dr. Marisa Tillery graduated summa cum laude with her BS in biochemistry and molecular biology from Liberty University. Despite being grossed out by bugs, Dr. Tillery joined a fruit fly lab for her graduate training and studied how cells organize their cytoskeletons in the larval (think maggot) fat body. In 2023, she earned her PhD in biomedical sciences from the Florida State University College of Medicine.
Dr. Tillery has a passion for getting people excited to learn about God’s creation and currently serves as an Education Specialist for Answers in Genesis. She presents free Discover programs for daily guests at the Creation Museum and teaches high school biology labs at the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. She also leads hands-on biology workshops for Explore Jr. (for ages 5–10), Explore Days (ages 11–18), and Exploration (ages 18+).
In her free time, you’ll find Dr. Tillery hunting for bargains, playing her French horn or mellophone, and exploring new places.
Not only is there water in the oceans, lakes, rivers, and ice on earth’s surface, but there is also water in the atmosphere above and in the ground below.
Answers in Genesis is an apologetics ministry, dedicated to helping Christians defend their faith and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ.
