Ken Whiting

Ken has committed over 40 years to working within the recreational, leisure-time and attractions industries, focusing on strategic food & beverage sales building programs, customer service initiatives, and the motivating and training of a large entry-level workforce. As President of his family’s business, they operate food & beverage at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, KP Arena, and in fairs and festivals throughout California.

Additionally, he provides guidance to venues worldwide on growing revenue and profits within all in-park spending areas. And he has worked with industry employers to improve workplace productivity, performance and development, with the next generation of employees.

As a lifetime community volunteer, he is a past president, board member or an active participant of many charitable, church and civic organizations, and was recognized as the 2009 Man of the Year in the City of Santa Cruz.

Committed to the parks, attractions and entertainment industries, for decades he has held many roles and responsibilities with opportunities to serve, mentor, and contribute. He was honored to serve as the 2022 Chairman of the IAAPA Global Board of Directors.

In his spare time he has completed nearly 100 marathons and triathlons, and recently concluded running a marathon in every State. Married to Renee for 45 years they have 3 daughters, 10 grandchildren, and reside in “Surf City,” Santa Cruz, CA.
