An Evolution of Papal Views?

The new pope said that the “theory of evolution is not completely provable because mutations over hundreds of thousands of years cannot be reproduced in a laboratory.”

Pope Benedict also asserted that “evolution had a rationality [in natural selection] that inevitably leads to a question that goes beyond science,” asking “where did this rationality come from?” The pope credits God with injecting such “rationality” into the mechanism of evolution.

This questioning of naturalistic evolution has its own irrationality because it still places millions of years of death and suffering before Adam’s sin brought death into the world. Those who believe the Bible’s account of creation in Genesis should call their churches back to the absolute authority of Scripture from the very first verse.
