Dr. Robert Henderson

Dr. Robert W. Henderson is Founder and Chairman of the Board of Nutramax Laboratories. Dr. Henderson is a member of the Maryland Pharmacists Association. He received his B.S. in pharmacy from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, his honorific Doctor of Pharmacy from the Maryland Pharmaceutical Association, and his Doctor of Naturopathy from Bernadean University.

In 1992, Dr. Henderson developed and patented the glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate combination resulting in Cosamin^® and Cosequin^®, which started what is today a global category in joint health support in both human and veterinary medicine. Prior to founding Nutramax, he started his career at Eli Lilly; owned Henderson Nutritional Pharmacy; and was President of Henderson Metabolic Services, Inc. Dr. Henderson has served on the Advisory Board of the Food & Drug Law Institute as well as the Nutraceutical Advisory Board of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.

For more than three decades, Dr. Henderson has led the privately held, family-owned company that is now an industry leader in the nutritional supplement world. “Dr. Bob” and his wife, Janet, live in Lancaster where they enjoy raising chickens and horses and gardening. They have three sons, nine grandchildren, and eight great-grands!
