Matthew Poe

Matthew Poe was born and raised in Rochester, NY. He met his wife, Elissa, at the Deaf Missions’ Training Center in 2013. Since Matthew is from New York and Elissa is a Texas native, they like to joke that they fell in love in the heartland of the country. They will celebrate their 10th anniversary in June 2024. They have three precious children, ages five to eight. Matthew served as project manager for Deaf Missions’ American Sign Language Version (ASLV) translation project and was a translator for the book of Isaiah. Matthew now serves as Director of the Deaf Group with Pioneer Bible Translators in Dallas, Texas. Matthew and Elissa’s passion is to walk with the Lord and join God’s movement to make himself known to all the Deaf people in the world.
