John Kelton, owner and creative producer of Kelton Design LLC, is an exhibit designer known for meticulously implementing a client’s vision while prioritizing compelling storytelling.
His comprehensive approach covers all phases of exhibit development: planning, design, detailing, fabrication, installation, and remedial evaluation.
While serving as Director of Exhibits and Visitor Experience for the award-winning Cook Museum of Natural Science, John built the museum’s creative team and then steered them from rough concept to its completion. His extensive portfolio also includes major projects for EPCOT Inventions, Universal Studios, Smithsonian Traveling Exhibits, the University of Alabama, the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, and Space Camp, among others.
Kelton shares his expertise by conducting workshops for regional museum associations, guest speaking at university design studios, and volunteering with community theater and Scouting America. He holds a bachelor of industrial design with a minor in business from Auburn University, and he specializes in visitor studies.
