Executive Director of Jeri’s House, Inc.

Jeri Cooper is the Executive Director of Jeri’s House, Inc., which is a temporary residential training facility to teach individuals who are Deaf-Blind how to be independent. She obtained her master’s in Rehabilitation Teaching for the Blind and is certified in Vision Rehab Therapy and in Deaf-Blind Rehabilitation. Jeri retired from the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services as the Deaf-Blind Specialist in 2020 after holding that position for over 11 years. She then started her own nonprofit, Jeri’s House, Inc. Their mission is to encourage, educate, and empower individuals who are Deaf-Blind to reach their highest potential!

Jeri is blind and severely hard of hearing. She understands the struggles of day-to-day life for people who have dual sensory loss. Through her professional work and personal experiences, she has learned to celebrate every success. Through her faith in God, she has learned every obstacle can become an opportunity. She is so thankful to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for blessing her in everything! She also praises her family for helping her to be all she can be and for teaching her what she can accomplish with determination and faith.

Jeri’s hobbies are visiting others, playing games, and watching football and baseball. Most of all, she enjoys cruises!

She loves life and wants to give back some of what she has so graciously been given, which is love, patience, and faith. Her passion is to help others turn their stumbling blocks into stepping stones.

The Bible verse that she leans on is Psalm 119:105, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
