Doug Henderson and his wife, Cathy, were introduced to Ken Ham by Buddy and Kay Davis in 1998. In 1999, they created and developed The Creation Adventure Team video with Buddy Davis. In 2006, Doug and Cathy joined the exhibit artist team as full-time AiG employees to help the Creation Museum open in 2007. Doug is currently the supervising art director for 1:1 Studio, where he oversees an incredibly talented team of artists.
Doug’s passion for making things started at a very young age and eventually led to a 15-year career teaching how to create special effects makeup, prosthetics, props, mechanical masks, and animatronics at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Many of his students went on to work on hundreds of blockbuster films, including Jurassic Park, Lord of the Rings, The Passion of the Christ, and Marvel franchises.
Doug has sculpted dozens of historical figures, such as celebrities, athletes, and politicians, for museums all around the world. He still enjoys learning and teaching all forms of sculpting, molding/casting, and painting/finishing in many different mediums.
Looking back, Doug can see how God put him in the position of instructor all those years to prepare him for his current job. His passion is to help fellow artists learn and hone their craft with excellence and purpose, using their time and talents to bring glory to God.
Lucy is the poster girl of human evolution, a member of the same family from which modern humans arose. At least, that’s how secular artists present her.
