In today’s busy world with skyrocketing tuition and travel costs, online education has become a popular option for those interested in supplementing or continuing their studies. Creationist organizations have discovered that offering online courses is an effective way to teach the creation message in depth.
For instance, the Institute for Creation Research (ICR) offers a Master of Science in Science Education mostly through the Internet. (See “Bible Belted in Texas.”) Students take classes from qualified instructors in science education, geology, biology, geophysics, astrophysics, and general science. They then finish their studies by taking an oral exam and completing a publishable science paper.
Answers in Genesis (AiG) offers low-cost online courses to students interested in learning more about creation apologetics without earning a degree. Plus, educators can earn continuing education credits for Bible and science. Students taking AiG’s 12-week instructor-based course can earn 3 college credits from God’s Bible School and College.
Creation apologetics courses cover topics such as the Bible, biology, geology, and astronomy. Most of AiG’s courses are arranged in 6- or 12-week formats, with weekly assignments and projects. AiG also recently added a course that allows students to complete projects at a more self-directed pace.
