Who would have thought that February 12, Darwin’s birthday, would be a religious “holiday”?
As Darwin’s 200th birthday approaches in 2009, humanistic science groups are searching for more churches to celebrate evolution. The two most visible groups behind this church outreach are the National Center for Science Education (NCSE), led by an atheist, and the Clergy Letter Project, founded by a church-going science professor.
The NCSE, for example, is hiring a “faith project director” to develop materials on religion and science, and to represent the group to churches and Christian leaders, and the Clergy Letter Project has been busy soliciting funds for a national advertising campaign.
While some clergy may compromise the clear teaching of the Word of God, pastors must remain steadfast in teaching the true history of the world, starting from the very first verse.
This issue discusses topics such as gender equality, abortion, the origin of oil, racism, mand more.
