We see death all around us. Everything and everyone will eventually die. Everyone recognizes that death is not good, but did you know that evolutionists are being inconsistent when they say death is not good?
You see, death is the hero in evolution. In this view, it’s death plus time that has resulted in all the variety we see around us. Really, in their view, death is a good thing! This is very different from how the Bible describes death. In a biblical view, death is the punishment for sin (Genesis 2:17; 1 Corinthians 15:22), and it is the last enemy (1 Corinthians 15:26).
The rising death rate for people in the United States, the first rise in a while, has been in the news. Well, I have news for researchers: the death rate has been 100% for 6,000 years.
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned. (Romans 5:12)
News items sometimes cite the major causes of death in humans as various diseases, but ultimately there’s only one cause—sin!
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Secular humanists may deny they’re sinners, but they can’t deny that they’ll die. And though our sin brings death, there’s good news:
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
Secularists often mock our themed attraction, Ark Encounter, by saying it’s a testimony to genocide. They blame God for judging sin with death. But the ultimate question is not “Why did all but eight people die during the Flood?”—the vital answer to understand is to the question, “Why do all people die?”
Or how about this: those who support abortion condone the murder of already 59 million children by abortion. Yet many of these same secularists blame God for the death of starving children or for killing children in the Flood.
They don’t understand or they reject that we all will die as the natural consequence of our willful sin, yet see death as a necessary vehicle for “survival of the fittest” or, in the case of abortion, the “rights of the mother.” But the Bible properly describes death as an “enemy” (1 Corinthians 15:26) because of our sin! It’s our fault! But God gives us power over sin (Romans 6) and himself paid the penalty for our sin by conquering death at the Cross and will ultimately destroy it (1 Corinthians 15:26).
Evolution is a religion of death—death plus time brings life into existence. Evolutionists celebrate death! But Christianity is a religion of life. We serve the “Author of Life” whom “God raised from the dead” (Acts 3:15) to save us from sin and to offer the free gift of salvation.
Not only does evolution celebrate death, but it also dehumanizes people since it means humans are animals and have no more value than any other creature. If man’s just an animal, then we can get rid of spare kids by abortion the way that we can get rid of spare cats—there’s no difference! But human beings are made in the image of God. Abortion is killing a human being—it’s murder. Humans were created; they’re not evolved animals.
And what about plants? Are they our “leafy cousins,” as this news report suggests? Evolutionists say yes. But, according to the Bible, plants were created for food (Genesis 1:29–30), and they’re not our relatives! Evolutionists say “there is nothing much distinguishing these plants from us”—that’s the absurdity of the religion of evolution. One scientist claims plants are “as alive as any animal.” No, biblically animals have a created “nephesh”—plants don’t have this. Do “plants have feelings too”? Again, this is the absurdity of the evolutionary religion and the belief that we’re related to plants, further dehumanizing man created in God’s image.
Because we start with God’s Word, we often get accused of being “antiscience,” as if anyone can interpret anything with no presuppositions. But those who teach the false idea that molecules-to-man evolution is the foundation of all biology are the ones who are antiscience. Molecules-to-man evolution is not the foundation of all science: it’s an anti-God religion imposed on science—it’s antiscience. Those who falsely teach that evolution is the foundation for science are imposing an anti-God religion that often leads to fruitless research. Modern science and its technology came out of a basis in Christian thinking. The more scientists abandon a Christian worldview, the more detrimental it will be to science.
Most teachers in public schools are antiscience when they teach molecules-to-man evolution as fact and impose this religion on students. By and large, evolutionists teach kids what to think. Creationists teach kids how to think so they understand that all evidence is interpreted. Creationists teach students the truth about science, its limitations, and how worldviews result in differing interpretations of evidence.
Secularists cover the truth and spread false information. But the public needs to know that atheism is a religion! They try to hide it with terms like science, but atheism (naturalism) really is a religion. I encourage you to listen to this recent interview I did with Mark Elfstrand on why atheism is a hopeless faith.
In the video below, I interview AiG creation scientist Dr. Nathaniel Jeanson as he challenges evolutionists and the evolutionary establishment with real observable science. I encourage you to set aside time to watch this. This Harvard-trained creation scientist reveals genetics research that confirms the Bible’s history regarding humans. Evolutionists have the wrong interpretation of mitochondrial DNA and need to understand real observable science. Genetics research blows apart the false evolutionary history of humans.
