Visit from David Gibbs

by Ken Ham

This afternoon I received a phone call from David Gibbs III, of the Christian Law Association (David's father, David Gibbs, Jr., is the founder of the CLA). David was in town with his family to preach at a local church. His family was hoping they could see our facility and have a tour of the Creation Museum construction.

It was a privilege for me to spend a couple of hours with this special family. I have attached a couple of photographs I took of them during our tour.

Over the years the CLA has been of invaluable assistance to AiG. The CLA website states: "The Christian Law Association is a 'ministry of legal helps.' Its purpose is to provide legal assistance to Bible-believing churches and Christians who are experiencing legal difficulty in practicing their religious faith because of governmental regulation, intrusion, or prohibition of one form or another."

The CLA is supported by donations---and I would encourage any of you who don't get their newsletter or don't support them to consider doing so. They are a very important ministry in this day and age (and AiG has a great relationship with them). You can find out more about them at their website.

SCATHING ARTICLE

I was sent an article from a Columbus news source that attacked the Creation Museum. As far as we know, the writer of this article has not visited AiG. Here are some quotes from the article:

...they open so called museums that purport to prove dinosaurs lived on the Earth at the same time people did. Oh, and that the Earth, sun and stars above are only 6,000 years old. The claims are pure nonsense. But, as the saying goes, you can fool some of the people all of the time. And if you fool the right people, they just might wind up on school boards, where they can try to set science education back hundreds of years by giving creationism and its cousin, intelligent design, equal time with evolution in the classroom... One such assault on education, the Creation Museum, is supposed to open in 2007 not far across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, in Petersburg, Ky. The creator of what is projected to be the largest attraction of its kind is Kenneth Ham, president of Answers in Genesis, a ministry of sorts that includes a Web site, books, newsletters, a radio show and Creation magazine.

Ham has raised about $20 million, from donations averaging $70, spokesmen say. If Ham’s supporters are this numerous, more temples to this propaganda campaign are sure to rise.

THE LIE AND A CHANGED LIFE

The Lord so encourages us with responses like this:

I was the man that spoke to Ken Ham about being a theistic evolutionist before stumbling across AIG and the many resources offered here. I had him sign my copy of "The Lie" as this book contributed tremendously to the change in my Christian life that brought me to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through solid doctrine.

I was finally able to attend a conference where Ken was speaking (World View Weekend in Tennessee) and I got the opportunity to personally thank him for his work and the work of all the people at AIG. I praise God for what He is doing through this vital ministry. I could have stood around and talked for an hour with Mr. Ham! This ministry is fast becoming like the burning in my bones spoken about by Jeremiah. It is, in my opinion, the next great battle we face as evangelical Christians today - teaching the proper doctrine concerning Genesis 1-11. I am linking arms with you all to further edify the church in this area.

I can't tell you how many Christians I have spoken to (and I try to speak to as many as I can about this subject!) who are weak in this area of doctrine and how much it affects their world view, thus their view of Christianity as a whole. Every chance I get I teach my class (I am a Sunday School teacher and a discipleship training teacher) the importance of the literal six day Creation dctrine and the worldwide flood and what these two pieces of history mean to us as the church.

Thank you all very much for your ministry there and praise God for His work through you! The desire of my heart is to see all born-again believers become solid in their doctrine starting from those first words, "In the beginning God..."

Thanks for stopping by,

Ken
