Hollywood’s newest “Jesus film,” The Nativity Story, is based on the true account of Jesus’ birth. But it’s also fiction. Viewers meet a devout virgin who suddenly finds herself “with child” and a hard working Jewish tradesman who discovers that he’s engaged to a pregnant girl whose body he has revered and reserved for a time yet to come. Wholesome family entertainment? We expect so, but check our website and read Luke 2 just before (or after) viewing. Appreciate the good, but discern and discuss those things that are not true, as should be our normal course.
