At a recent talk given by one of the AiG–UK’s speakers, one person attending commented: ‘I need a week’s worth of this teaching!’ If that has been your thinking before today, then all AiG supporters worldwide are invited to travel to Britain next year and attend a long weekend conference ‘Creation without compromise’ in April.
Excitement is already growing here in the UK in anticipation of this conference, which will be Answers in Genesis’ first international conference held in the UK. For the first time in this country (the homeland of Darwin), many of the world’s leading creationist speakers will be gathered in one place: the Hayes Conference Centre, Swanwick, Derbyshire, from 20 April to 23 April 2006.
Typically AiG’s international conferences are held in the USA. So those Americans and Canadians who would normally think of attending a multi-hour USA conference in 2006 should note this opportunity on the other side of the Atlantic. While AiG–USA will not host an international, four-day conference in America in 2006 (but will instead hold an intensive Creation College in June for creation speakers … and will feature many two-day meetings throughout the USA in 2006), it is supplying some of the speakers for this major conference in Britain.
We anticipate that many people in Canada and the USA (and other countries) will make the flight over to Britain, and perhaps also consider enjoying a holiday while there (and before the busy tourist season starts in the UK; April is a time when airfares, hotels, etc. are less expensive).
‘Creation without Compromise’ could not be more timely, as we have seen great compromises among UK evangelicals in recent years (see The Lost Message of Jesus is no message at all and The continuing de-Christianization of the UK). We have also seen articles published in leading evangelical magazines in the UK that say it doesn’t matter what you believe on the subject of Genesis—just so long as we preach Jesus! So UK evangelicals, in common with evangelicals elsewhere in the world, now seem to believe that what God actually says in His Word is not that important after all!
A wide variety of topics will be covered, including ‘apemen’, the age of rocks, the scriptural geologists of the 19th century and creation evangelism. These topics are addressed by top international speakers such as Terry Mortenson, Jonathan Sarfati and David Menton, as well as our own Monty White and Philip Bell.
Keynote addresses on issues such as ‘Reclaiming the Culture’ and ‘Defending the Christian Faith’ will be presented by AiG–USA President Ken Ham. This is a rare opportunity to hear Ken Ham in the UK in the next few years, as this much sought-after speaker will not be available to speak in the UK again until 2008.
As someone commented to us: ‘It is great that AiG is holding one of its International Conferences in the UK. What a wonderful opportunity to hear so many brilliant speakers in one place.’ And what a wonderful opportunity it is for UK Christians to mingle with the speakers and ask questions on a one-to-one level.
Thankfully, there is a growing number of Christians in the UK who do not subscribe to compromise regarding Genesis. However, so many of them are hungry for more teaching on these issues. The April conference will be for them.
Bring your pastor
Sometimes pastors feel under pressure on this issue. They may well have been through Bible college, which, while solidly evangelical on other matters, have compromised on Genesis. Yet their congregations need answers. Such pastors need to join us next April.
(Church members take note: it would be a good gesture to sponsor your pastor, youth leader or other key church worker to come to this conference.)
A great spot
The Hayes Conference Centre is one of the UK’s most prestigious Christian conference venues. Set in the heart of picturesque Derbyshire, and close to the Peak District National Park, it provides the ideal opportunity for conference delegates to relax, unwind and take in some serious Bible teaching. The cost of the conference, at £243 per person (£226 per person sharing in a double or twin room), represents very good value, when you consider the number of top international speakers flying over to participate in this major event.
In fact, if you pay in full before 31 October 2005, you will be eligible for a 5% discount!
This will be a conference to remember. Possibly a once-in-a-lifetime experience—especially if you are an avid chess player, and want to challenge Dr Sarfati, who takes on six at a time, while he is blind-folded!
AiG–UK’s Ministry Coordinator Irene White would love to hear from you with your conference booking! She can be contacted via phone at 0116 270 4871.
Don’t miss out on this incredible event! Book now, to avoid disappointment!
