The Avatar “Spiritual Experience”

by Ken Ham

Last week my wife and I—and AiG’s Dr. Jason Lisle and Dan Lietha—decided (as we are all somewhat science fiction fans) to watch the new movie Avatar. We were interested in two things:

  1. The special effects used
  2. The underlying message(s) of the movie
The lead article on AiG’s website today (Monday) is our review of this movie. I believe our differing backgrounds resulted in a unique, informative, and powerful review that I would encourage you all to read—and ,of course, we wanted to ensure we had an evangelistic thrust so that we can use this review to challenge people concerning the truth of the gospel.

Be sure to read the review.

Nightline Tonight?

I’m a little reluctant to mention it because we have been bumped twice already, but the producers of the Nightline TV program have informed us that their segment on the new Darwin film (called Creation)—which has a brief interview with me and others commenting about the movie—should be broadcast tonight on the ABC network at 11:35 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time and 10:35 p.m. Central. For more here is our previous web article about Nightline.

Packed Auditorium in Oceanside

Below are some photographs taken at Oceanside Calvary Chapel in Southern California (in San Diego County) on Saturday night—a packed crowd. Also, notice a conference banner about our new theme for the year:

Then Dr. Jason Lisle and I spoke on Sunday at Calvary Chapel San Jacinto—quite a few miles inland from Oceanside.

Jason (far right) is with Pastor Tom Hughes and assistant pastor Bob Warning.

Devotion

I asked him not whence he was

(Judges 13:6) Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came unto me, and his countenance was like the countenance of an angel of God, very terrible: but I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me his name.

For those who yearn to know and will ask, they will find out that the Lord Jesus Christ is God who became a man to rescue us, die for us, and to save us from our sins.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying, Ken
