In an anonymous letter we received recently, written in the wake of a visit by 285 atheists/agnostics to our Creation Museum last month, it was stated (edited down here):
Sir, surely you understand the reason the SSA students mocked and showed disrespect, is because five days a week they learn science based on evolution, and then on Sundays they hear something entirely different, which sounds more like myth and fable in reality. . . .
In many ways, people like you contribute to the disrespect you get without realizing it. . . .
How can ‘Christians’ be taken seriously when before the Civil War, many Christians were also slave owners?
No, the students should not have been disrespectful. But neither should your staff have been disrespectful of the students, considering the fiction you spread! Get real!

It’s a shame the person would not tell us who he or she is so that we could have engaged in some kind of dialogue. Perhaps this person has no idea, for example, that our Creation Museum has a large display against racism and has produced a book, three DVDs, a booklet, and numerous articles that attack racism. They show that all people come from an original couple, Adam and Eve (who were probably middle-brown in skin shade).
Our ministry of proclaiming biblical truths from the very first verse has nothing to do with the shameful acts of racism by those who may have called themselves Christians yet horribly misused Scripture (e.g., claiming that there is a “curse of Ham,” which is found nowhere in the Bible, on people with dark skin). Also, the people who led the fight against slavery in the U.S. and Britain (e.g., William Wilberforce) were mostly Bible-believing Christians. Yet the “slavery card” is played against us.
On Tuesday, Dale Mason, one of our VPs, gave a brief report to our staff on our Answers magazine. This magazine has climbed to almost 70,000 subscribers! When most magazines are seeing a drop in circulation, this family publication is doing well in this weak economy. There are subscribers now in 110 nations.
Dale also previewed for the staff the next issue of Answers, which looks great! The cover is very striking, and the articles inside—along with a special children’s section—declare God’s great handiwork in designing the human body.
The October–December Answers magazine is at the printer right now. To subscribe (how about getting a gift subscription for a friend or family member for Christmas?), go here.
Here is one of the slides that Dale put on the screen for the staff, with a great comment by a supporter, which shows that the magazine is relevant for young people as well:
Two Approaches to Life
(Psalm 37:3–7) Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Not self reliance, depression, grabbing with feverish anxiety and restlessness, but trusting in, delighting in, committing to and resting in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
