International Leaders Visit AiG/Creation Museum

by Ken Ham on April 8, 2008

Last week, AiG speaker Dr. Terry Mortenson had the privilege of speaking briefly to seven key “internationals” visiting the museum. They are mostly D.Min. students at Asbury Seminary in central Kentucky. One of them, Sergei Golovin, is founder and director of a creationist apologetics ministry in Ukraine with a great impact throughout the Russian-speaking world [ http://www.scienceandapologetics.org ]. He had arranged for the others to come. These Christian leaders came from the U.K., Zambia, Philippines, Malaysia, and the Congo. One was a seminary professor, another was president of the Christian Misssionary and Alliance Church in his country, and another was the director of a mission organization in central Africa.

Sergei wrote about the group’s visit:

Thank you very much, brother; it was just something special! Our group of international leaders was just in shock—everyone in his own way! Fernando, the school president from Philippines, all the way back [to the seminary] was going through the materials you gave, amazed that such materials exist and are available! The British vicar was dropping sarcastic questions that revealed he is uncomfortable with the facts he got. Well, he needs time to think through them and to read the publications he got. The Africans just were enjoying the experience. I believe we made great short-term mission with the long-term impact for the Kingdom!
[Sadly, it doesn’t surprise me about the British vicar—that is a problem right across the U.K. as I experienced again last week]

Dr. Mortenson also received an email from one of the other students, the pastor of a 2100-member church in Malaysia. He wrote:

Thanks for the arrangements & gifts at the Creation Museum today; I had been richly blessed in more ways than one. On all our behalf—I say thank you, brother. May the Lord continue to bless & use this ministry to open eyes to believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
SECURITY SEMINAR—FOR FAITH BASED ORGANIZATIONS

The Security Department at AiG has started several initiatives to help faith-based organizations/churches operate safely and securely and prepare for emergencies that may arise either at a church location, school, offices or while out doing mission work. Attached is a flyer for the next lecture scheduled for May 20. Please pass it along to your pastor or other ministers or missionaries who might benefit from this type of training. As stated in the flyer, to register they may contact Customer Service at the telephone number listed.

RAVING FAN AND SOUL SAVED

This is what the AiG/Creation Museum ministry is all about:

I just wanted to say thank you to the museum and your staff for a great visit. Special thanks to Rhonda Arnold and the greeter who helped arrange our lunch plans. Bringing a large group of children was a hard task but they went the extra mile to make our visit so enjoyable. The scavenger hunts were absolutely key in helping the kids throughout the museum. Also wanted to let you know that I am so happy that you not only do a great job in presenting the case for creation, but you also share the gospel. We have several children who seem to be close to making a decision for Christ. The Last Adam movie was very powerful. One of those children accepted Christ tonight in church and in talking to her, I realized that the movie had made an impact on her. I believe that God is not done with just one though. I am sure we will see more in the coming weeks. Please express our gratitude to the Creation museum administration and employees.
A GROUPIE REFRIGERATOR

An AiG supporter (I should affectionately say “groupie”) sent a photograph of his refrigerator (attached) along with this encouraging note:

God has been very faithful to me (Malachi 4:2 & 3:10), & I’m grateful for all that you all do at AiG to keep strengthening my faith! I love supporting AiG.P.S...And I’m attaching a photo of my refrigerator showing my 2007 & 2008 AiG staff magnets . . . Mr. Ham should remember me as what he called “an AiG groupie”! . . . By the way, notice that there’s still plenty of empty real estate on my fridge for many more AiG annual staff magnets in the years to come!

EMAILS CONTINUE FROM AROUND THE WORLD

AiG continues to receive emails from around the world. As of the end of March, we are now up to 103 countries, the latest being Mauritius and Gibraltar (I realize that Gibraltar is actually a British Overseas Territory, but it does have its own internal government). We received this email from New Zealand this past week again illustrating how AiG materials (like The Great Debate DVD set referred to in this email) are ministering around the world:

Ken / Jason, keep up the great work, you are winning this for our God!!! Jason, you are to be commended in taking up Hugh Ross’s challenge [in The Great Debate]. I will be praying for you every day.
DEVOTION
“Receive”

(Proverbs 10:8) "The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall."

What makes us believers is the word receive, when we heard the Word of God we received it from our mind into our heart & translated it into a changed life.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying.

Ken
