When Killing Is Not Murder

Perspective

Featured in Answers Magazine

In Colorado, abortion rights are derailing justice. A woman 34 weeks pregnant was assaulted and her unborn baby cut from her womb; but the attacker is not facing a murder charge because the prosecutor could not provide proof that the baby was born alive.1

Earlier, in 2013 and 2014, state legislators and voters rejected laws that would define such killings as murder because they would interfere with abortion rights.

The biblical worldview makes all babies equally precious, whether inside or outside the womb. All are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). But life is cheap and justice perverted when we are viewed as mere animals.
