This is Ken Ham, inviting you to have an encounter with God’s Word at the Ark Encounter.

Transcript

Textbooks often use examples of speciation as supposed evidence for evolution. A popular example is Darwin’s finches on the Galapagos Islands. Now, these finches have various-sized beaks, allowing them to eat different seeds. But is this really evolution in action?

No. The finches remain finches. What we’re really seeing is speciation. The finches become more adapted to their environment.

Now evolution requires the addition of brand-new genetic information to turn one kind into another. But speciation usually results in a loss of information—the exact opposite of evolution! Don’t let the textbooks fool you—finches have always been finches.
