Time and Time Again

Many people think that radiometric dating disproves the Bible’s claims of a recent creation. However, the chemical data used in the radiometric dating methods require interpretation, which is sure to be wrong if biblical data is ignored.

For instance, the Grand Canyon was once dated at 6 million years, but recently scientists revised the date to 17 million years. A few weeks later, because of a different radiometric dating method using the phosphate mineral called apatite, scientists concluded that the last of the dinosaurs may have wandered around the canyon 65 million years ago.

The Bible, which never changes, leads us to a different interpretation about the formation of Grand Canyon, formed in the catastrophes that followed Noah’s Flood, around 4,350 years ago (see “Continuing Catastrophes,” p. 70).
