UK Children’s Book Teaches Gender Diversity

The push to indoctrinate young children to accept transgender behavior as normal will soon include a new book called Can I Tell You About Gender Diversity? This short book apparently will be introduced into primary schools in the UK as a resource for parents, teachers, and children as young as seven.

According to reports, the soon-to-be published book begins,

My name is Kit and I’m 12 years old. I live in a house with my mum and dad, and our dog, Pickle. When I was born, the doctors told my mum and dad that they had a baby girl, and so for the first few years of my life that’s how my parents raised me. This is called being assigned female at birth. I wasn’t ever very happy that way.

The book reportedly discusses Kit’s transition to wearing boy clothing, using male pronouns, changing her name, using hormone blockers to stop puberty, potentially taking testosterone, and even gender-reassignment surgery.

What’s Right in Their Own Eyes

This upcoming new book is just another example of how far our culture has drifted from a biblical worldview. Morality and even something as basic to humanity as gender are no longer based on the firm foundation of God’s Word but, instead, everyone does what’s right in their own eyes (Judges 21:25). This message of moral relativism and the gender revolution is being aggressively pushed on children at younger and younger ages.

As parents we need to be intentional about teaching our children what God’s Word says on the subject.

As parents we need to be intentional about teaching our children what God’s Word says on the subject. Much of our culture along with the parents of many transgender children are intentional about teaching their secular world view (and encouraging children toward things that children don’t fully understand)—we need to be just as determined to teach God’s Word and a biblical view.

Many young people in our culture are adrift in a sea of arbitrary human opinions. And not just adrift—they’ve been shoved away from the shore. Without the sure foundation of God’s Word they are simply blown everywhere by the opinions of the majority. As Bible-believing Christians, we don’t want that for our children! This issue illustrates the ultimate hopelessness and purposelessness of a worldview not based on God’s Word.

Be intentional about teaching them what God’s Word says about gender. According to Genesis, God created “male and female” (Genesis 1:27). Gender is not a social construct. It’s not a matter of one’s opinions or one’s feelings! It is a matter of biology and how God created! It was designed “very good” (Genesis 1:31) by the Creator from the beginning. We don’t have the authority to redefine what God created.

Of course, because of sin and the Curse, certain individuals will struggle with their gender. These individuals deserve our compassion and love—but that doesn’t mean we need to encourage them to embrace and celebrate a sinful lifestyle based on how they feel. It means lovingly and compassionately teaching what God’s Word says on the topic. When many of these children get older, they begin to struggle with what they’ve done to themselves—often with devastating consequences in regard to life and death.
