Why Has the Tide Turned?

by Ken Ham on September 16, 2015

A proposed TV ad—called a “spec spot”—which won’t show on TV, according to WCPO TV in Cincinnati, sadly illustrates the way in which those who oppose the clear Christian teaching on marriage openly flaunt their mockery of God’s Word. It’s as if those who created the spot are shaking their fist at their Creator God and mocking Christians as part of their open rebellion against God’s clearly designed purpose and meaning of marriage.

This ad, perhaps unintentionally, mocks the Kentucky clerk who recently wouldn’t issue “marriage” licenses to gay couples. Yes, the “Tide” has turned in this culture. Society does need cleansing—not with the Tide stain remover that appeared in the advertisement—but with the cleansing power of the washing of the water of the only true “stain” removers: the Word of God and the saving gospel!

It seems more and more it’s open season on Christians, who are increasingly being treated as second-class citizens in this nation. And yet, those who are actually involved in a gay “marriage” are such a small percentage of the population. There is something supernatural about this issue! Personally, I believe that God is turning this nation over to judgment, as per Romans 1. As the restraining influence of the Holy Spirit is removed, evil will flourish, also resulting in persecution of God’s people. Yet history shows that such persecution results in a purging of the church. What is happening is certainly going to sort out the real Bible-believing Christians, who are willing to boldly and unashamedly stand up without compromise on God’s Word from the very first verse, from the others.

Watch the proposed advertisement below, embedded from the director's original Facebook post:

Tide to Go - Wedding

First a clerk in Kentucky, and now a church lady in Los Angeles! This same sex couple faces yet another obstacle on the way to marriage equality in this commercial I directed. Special kudos for terrific performances by Matt Marr, Karl Ramsey, and Lynne Marie Stewart.
