The Answers Are Spreading

I receive many emails, letters, phone calls, and personal testimonies each day from people I meet at the Creation Museum and as I travel and speak. I am thrilled at the way the answers this ministry provides are spreading; the answers help to counter the secular attacks of the day and to equip Christians to defend the Christian faith, and the more they spread, the greater the impact.

I recently received this wonderful email below, and I believed it is important for you all to read this, as it is such a great of example of the way AiG has been used by God to impact a family, a church, other families, and other churches—all because of the influence on one person.

I was raised in a non-religious family. We went to church in the ‘60s and ‘70s because it was the thing to do, or be seen doing, but it was not something discussed at home, and all things Biblical were not present in any family conversations.  I visited a church at nineteen and heard the gospel presented in its entirety for the first time and received Jesus Christ as Lord.

Married in 1984 [and had children] I read the scriptures and found passages such as these in Deuteronomy:  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Deut 6:7  Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Deut 11:19

Whenever the Lord repeats something, it indicates how seriously He takes the subject, and I suddenly realized that I also needed to take it seriously.  I now knew what a tremendous responsibility and opportunity I had to raise up my children in the knowledge of the Lord, and I wanted to do it right. I asked the Lord to help me.  I knew my children would have the same questions about spiritual things I had experienced and I wanted to make sure I was three steps ahead of any questions they might have, so I studied the in the area of comparative religions for the next several years to gain as much knowledge as I could.

Then, I found Answers in Genesis.

My eyes were opened to a whole new area of information and I dived right in and read everything I could, subscribing to your [Answers] magazine and filling my bookshelves with creation material.  During this time, our boys had begun to ask those questions I had known would come, and I was amazed at the depth of questions an eight year old could ask!  Praise God for His leading: I found that I was able to provide answers for them and to strengthen their faith as well as my own.  Your ministry had equipped me so well that I was able to thoroughly teach my children and demolish each evolutionary argument their public schools presented to them.  I felt incredibly blessed when they began to tell me about conversations they were having in school with other students and sharing with them what the Bible said about creation, death being the consequence of sin, the Flood, geology, Babel, plate tectonics, biology, baraminology, anthropology, dating methods, etc.  They wrote papers in school presenting this information and classmates asked more questions.

Again, I was greatly blessed when each of my sons accepted the Lord and became Christians!  They are now each well grounded in the Scriptures with a strong emphasis on the first eleven chapters of Genesis as the real history of the world, which they have told me had a great deal to do with their decision to follow Jesus Christ.  Two of my sons are now involved in ministry; carrying the torch to the next generation.  My wife and I feel so blessed.

Six years ago, my pastor asked me if I would be interested in teaching on the subject of Creation/Evolution and I put together a fourteen-week class with various videos from AiG and the Institute for Creation Research, as well as one from Dr. D. James Kennedy, whom I know was a tremendous believer in, and supporter of, AiG.  Each week we watch a video, and then I lecture on a particular subject so that after fourteen weeks we have hit many of the major areas of controversy. I have now been teaching this course twice a year for six years, and the response has been tremendous!  Those who have taken the course have filled out a questionnaire and raved about what a great faith-building experience it has been for them, and they excitedly tell others and get them to enroll in the next course.  For me, the best part is seeing how the parents have begun to get directly involved in teaching their children!  Many of them have taken their children to the Creation Museum, and our church has taken groups down to see it as well. . . .

My next goal was to multiply myself by teaching other teachers.  Two other churches have sent a member to take the course, and I am now teaching a men’s Bible study group at a third church with members of five separate churches represented at the table every Tuesday morning.  They have expressed their desire to overhaul the education wing of their churches to have a greater emphasis on Creation to prevent their children from becoming part of the 70+% of those who leave the church when they are older, as “Already Gone” reveals.

Having come from a limited Christian background, I cannot begin to express to you how much I appreciate all the labor of your ministry because your work has helped me tremendously to achieve the greatest goal of any Christian parent: to lead our children to the Lord and know they will be in Heaven with us.

God has been faithful.  I feel so very blessed to have been used by the Lord in such a capacity, and I look forward to see what He will do next as I follow His leading in further areas.

When we walk with the Lord Jesus Christ and speak often of Him, then we see Him as standing between us and our enemies as they challenge Him.
