The Answers Book for Kids Hits the Shelves

At the end of last week, I saw the first copies of two of our Answers Book for Kids series that is being published by creation publisher Master Books. AiG staff member Cindy Malott and I spent many hours working on these two publications (the next two are still being worked on).

Our New Answers Books 1 and 2 for teens and adults have been so popular (Answers Book 1 being the biggest-selling and most-read creation apologetics book in the world) that our publisher came up with the idea for an Answers Book series for kids. It was a fun project to work on—and after seeing the first two books, I believe they will fly off the shelves! They were a real hit at the Christian booksellers convention in the USA recently, and as a result, the kids Answers books will appear in Christian bookstores in a number of countries around the world.

ANOTHER SET OF “BLACK” AND “WHITE” TWINS

On July 17, an interesting news item reported on another set of "black" and "white" twins. I put "black" and "white" in quotes, because people are all basically the same color—just varying amounts of the color (the main pigment being melanin). One news item reported: “Twins with different skin colors—one black and the other white—have been born in Berlin, Germany.”

TEACHER USING AiG MATERIAL

We receive many email testimonies at AiG each week—here is a recent one that excites me because one teacher will, over many years, influence the lives of many many children:

I will be teaching 6th–12th grade Science at a Christian school this 2008–2009 school year. I have spent the whole summer studying Creation and Evolution so I'll be prepared to teach this year. I visited the Creation Museum July 2008. It was fascinating! I bought over $200.00 in material for this coming school year and signed up for APO 111 [AiG’s online creation apologetics course]. I am excited about what God is doing! I am tired of Christians being intimidated by the secular school system. I went to the public school system from kindergarten through graduation. I was constantly bombarded with evolution and the age of the earth and universe being millions of years old. Many ideas that I was taught from Darwin I thought was the dumbest thing I ever heard. I looked at all of creation and saw a magnificent Creator who surpassed any artist ever born.

FROM CAMEROON, AFRICA

A couple of weeks ago, a pastor from Cameroon (in Africa) visited AiG/the Creation Museum. I had a couple of photographs taken with Pastor Olinga but had to wait to get the correct information about him before I could post this on my blog. The American pastor who hosted this pastor wrote to me:

Recently our international conference (Conservative Grace Brethren Churches, International) met in Fort Mitchell and while there, we took a tour of the Creation Museum. One word sums it up for me: Spectacular! Thanks for an amazing job of communicating the early age of the earth and the Genesis record! God bless you.

While at the museum Pastor Raymond Olinga (an African paraplegic—with no use of his legs) and I met [Ken]. Pastor Raymond is the senior pastor of the Keyon Grace Brethren Church in Oku, Cameroon, Africa. He is also the director of our practorium (seminary-level training in a local church setting) ministries in Cameroon. Pastor Raymond graduated from the Cameroon Biblical Seminary in Mfomakap, Cameroon with a ThM. He speaks English and French fluently; French and Bulou are his native languages. He has been translating Dr. Whitcomb's seminary courses into French for a number of years. He has nine years' pastoral experience and has been teaching seminary level for eight years. He is a remarkable man and is invaluable to our work in the Cameroon and the rest of Africa.

We talked about getting AiG resources into Africa. Dr. Dave Crandall, director of AiG Worldwide, is following up concerning getting DVDs and books translated.

ANSWERS MAGAZINE AND NEW ANSWERS BOOKS A REAL HIT!

I arrived back Sunday afternoon from the Colorado conference I spoke at on Saturday.
