The US Surgeon General recently announced that—surprise!—parenting is stressful.
According to the Surgeon General, parents today have more pressure than parents of previous generations to spend more time and money educating and enriching their children’s lives.
In our fallen world, many parts of our lives will be riddled with stress. But family is a gift from God, and children are a heritage from him (Psalm 127:3). Parents can resist social pressures and raise their children as they see fit before God. We should consider it a privilege to raise children in the way of the Lord—even as we drive them to soccer practice, pay for math tutors, and mop spills from the floor.
