I was actually home last weekend! I had the chance to attend my home church for a change, which was a real blessing. Then my oldest daughter, Mary, surprised us by coming home between sessions at college. That was very special, as I had not planned on seeing her until Christmas vacation. There’s nothing like having all of my daughters home at the same time. They are getting older, so it doesn’t happen often.
On Monday I had a rare day on the golf course. I don’t play often (or well), but this was really more of a “guys day out” with my buddies. Jim and Jason Stiles spent the morning on the golf course with me. Jason was the overall winner (by a significant margin, I might add). My one highlight of the day was my very first eagle! I think Jim was more excited about it than I was!
On Tuesday night I went to see the Cincinnati Reds play the St. Louis Cardinals. It was a real treat as I have always loved baseball. The Cardinals triumphed, much to the dismay of the Reds fans. Here are a couple of photos from the game:
I’m off to Columbia City, Indiana, this weekend for a two-day conference. Keep on praying.
