How to “Woke-Proof” Your Church

What’s the key to being “woke-proof”? Well, the answer is in Genesis! Genesis 1–11 is the foundation of all doctrine, the gospel, our Christian worldview, the rest of the Bible, and in fact, everything. Yes, Genesis 1–11 is the foundation for everything, and believing the literal history of Genesis 1–11 is the key to being woke-proof.

Just consider how it relates to these social issues:

  • It’s the foundation for marriage: one man and one woman. (Genesis 2:24)
  • It’s the foundation for gender: only two, male and female. (Genesis 1:27)
  • It’s the foundation for the sanctity of life: humans are made in the image of God, and abortion is the killing (murder of) a human being made in God’s image right from fertilization. (Genesis 1:27)

Those churches that condone gay “marriage” and are soft on the LGBTQ worldview do not take Genesis 1–11 as literal history. They either reject it as history, or they compromise with evolution and/or millions of years. Once the door is open to such compromise, it puts one on a slippery slide into doubt and unbelief.

Once the door is open to such compromise, it puts one on a slippery slide into doubt and unbelief.

But as soon as one accepts Genesis 1–11 as the literal history that it is, there’s only one true marriage, only two genders, and so on. Taking Genesis 1–11 as literal history is the key to being woke-proof. I challenge you to check out where your church/pastor/Christian college stands on the literal history of Genesis 1–11. How woke-proof are they?

Helpful Resources

And if you’re looking for resources to help woke-proof your church congregation, family, or Christian school, I encourage you to check out some of the resources we’ve developed to help Christians build a biblical worldview, be equipped with apologetics, and know what the Bible teaches. I specifically would like to recommend our Answers Bible Curriculum.

This curriculum is now available with versions for churches and for homeschool and is a chronological walk through the whole Bible. It teaches doctrine, apologetics, and a biblical and creation worldview. It also addresses the issues of the day with biblical truth and shows the gospel from Genesis through Revelation. I really can’t recommend it enough for equipping churches and families to stand firm on the truth of God’s Word.

And we’re currently developing a Christian school Bible curriculum as well. This comprehensive curriculum makes sure students graduate without holes in their biblical knowledge and worldview. We don’t want them to just remember some Bible stories or know a bunch of facts or have some good morals—we want them to have a fully-developed biblical worldview that will withstand the attacks of the day. Kindergarten through 2nd grade are currently available, with upper grades in development. It’s all part of equipping Christian schools to fulfill their mission. (This is something we’re also doing this month at our sold-out Answers for Educators event, sponsored by the Herzog Foundation. Make plans to join us in 2025! Details will be coming soon.)

I encourage you to check out these vital resources!

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
