Over the past few weeks, I’ve been sharing video updates from our attractions design director, Allen Greene, who presented them during a recent staff meeting. These updates are of construction projects at the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum—it’s exciting what’s coming! Well, my last update from this particular staff meeting is our project that’s the farthest into the future: the tower of Babel.
It’s an exciting project that will teach people that what happened at Babel was a historical event, highlight where the various people groups came from, powerfully answer the race issue in our culture, and present the gospel message.
Lord willing, we hope to build a reconstruction of what the tower of Babel might have looked like at the Ark Encounter. This project is still several years out, and will require much planning, design work, budgeting, fundraising, Kentucky tourism & permit approvals, etc. long before we formally announce we are moving ahead and can break ground. It’s an exciting project that will teach people that what happened at Babel was a historical event, highlight where the various people groups came from, powerfully answer the race issue in our culture, and present the gospel message. It’s going to be an incredible outreach tool!
You can hear the designer’s initial vision (this vision might change) in this video from Allen Greene:
