I Was “Deeply Paralyzed Mentally” Until AiG Shared Truth

I have been a Christian my entire life with a strong faith and love for God and His Word. However, growing up in the public schools, I have always been deeply paralyzed mentally in trying to separate what I learned as a child at school and my knowledge of God's Word when it comes to topics gripped by the theory of evolution.

My husband and I have 5 young children that we homeschool and up until recently, every time we would come to a topic in their school work that would cause me to have to sift through my knowledge of God's Word mixed with the theory of evolution garbage I was indoctrinated with as a school child, I would feel agitated and hesitant because even as an adult, I still felt paralyzed not being able to confidently discern and speak the truth to my own child. I earnestly prayed that God would sever, in my mind, a distinct line between “straightforward, Word of God truth,” and all of the lies I was taught in public schools growing up. Within a very short time of praying this, all separate from each other, my oldest (my 9-year-old) daughter mentioned that she wanted to visit the Ark Encounter, my husband told me we needed to start setting money aside to visit the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter within the next three years, and then, within 30 minutes of my husband's statement, my mom called on the phone saying that she and my dad felt led to send us with our three oldest children to the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter.

We made the trip to both places in July, have bought many, many books and resources from Answers in Genesis, and have watched many of the programs on Answers TV. By the grace of God, my prayer has been answered and I have been delivered from the grip of confusion and lack of confidence in speaking the truth boldly. With all confidence, I can tell you that God used Ken Ham and Buddy Davis' words and songs to speak His truth into me that I needed to hear at just the right time.

All of this to say THANK YOU! We enjoy all of the programs and work from Answers in Genesis, but I especially enjoy Dr. Georgia Purdom’s work and the work of both Mr. Ham and Buddy Davis as well.

What an incredible testimony to how God is sovereignly using this ministry to build believers up in their faith, give them answers, and equip them to believe, defend, and proclaim the truth of God’s Word and the gospel.

Sadly, many ministries refuse to take a bold and public stand on issues such as the truth of God’s Word in Genesis. Many apologists and apologetics organizations openly compromise God’s Word with evolutionary ideas, sewing seeds of doubt and confusion. It’s sad and shocking that we see such rampant compromise, even from well-known academics and leaders in the Christian world. One well-known apologist recently stated he is only “reasonably confident” that Jesus was born of a virgin and rejects a literal Adam and Eve and that Adam was made from dust and Eve from Adam.

More than ever, we need to challenge people with the truth of God’s Word and the saving gospel. As we have just finished the special celebration of the birth of the God-man Jesus, let’s remember that it was in Genesis 3:15 that God first promised the Savior. Yes, the account of a literal Adam, a literal tree, a literal fruit, a literal serpent, and a literal fall is why Adam’s race needed a Savior, the last Adam (1 Corinthians 15:45), to save us from our sin.
