The results of Australia’s postal survey are in. This survey was sent to Australian voters, asking them to vote “yes” or “no” on the issue of gay “marriage.” This survey is not binding, but the results determined if Parliament would introduce a bill on same-sex “marriage.” And the results of the vote were 61.6% “yes” and 38.4% “no”—so it looks like Australia will be joining many other Western nations that have rejected God’s definition of marriage by legalizing gay “marriage.”
The prime minister of Australia was quoted in The New York Times as saying,
The Australian people have spoken, and they have voted overwhelmingly ‘yes’ for marriage equality. . . . they voted ‘yes’ for fairness, they voted ‘yes’ for commitment, they voted ‘yes’ for love.
But Australians didn't vote "'yes' for love" as the Prime Minister claims. They voted “yes” for sin, “yes” for darkness, “yes” for man's word over God's Word, “yes” for a perversion of the only true marriage that God invented—one man, for one woman (Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:24).
We must remember that God, not politicians, invented marriage:
Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh”? (Matthew 19:4–5)
Ultimately, marriage is not a social, government, or cultural institution—marriage is God’s institution. Since God created marriage, only he has the authority to define marriage—and he has defined it as between one man and one woman for life.
The message and ministry of AiG is needed more than ever in Australia. I will be in Australia for a conference November 24–25, 2017 (along with AiG geologist Dr. Andrew Snelling). During that conference, I will be giving a presentation entitled, Genesis and the State of the Culture, and, during that presentation, I'll cover the topic of the only true marriage God invented based on the history in Genesis. This will be especially relevant considering the recent turn of events Down Under. If you are in Australia, I encourage you to join me in Brisbane—Christians need to be equipped with answers so they can engage the culture.
This is a unique and humorous short video to promote the conference. The video features Ben Price, Australia’s best impersonator, as President Donald Trump with an important message for people Down Under as he promotes AiG’s upcoming conference in Australia.
