It’s hard to believe my good friend and colleague Buddy Davis is already celebrating 20 years here at Answers in Genesis. We are so thankful God brought Buddy and his wife, Kay, to us. Buddy has been such a blessing, sharing his talents as a musician, paleo-artist, and adventurer with us for two decades now—much to the delight of children, adults, and families around the world.
Buddy shared this photo recently on Facebook and said:
I have now been with Answers in Genesis 20 years full time. This is an early picture of me with two of my friends at Answers in Genesis taken “a hundred years ago.” Mike Zovath is in the middle and Ken Ham is on the right. This ministry means so much to me and I am honored that God uses me as a team member.
It’s clear from this photo that we’ve barely changed at all!
Buddy—a Blessing to AiG
I first met Buddy in 1994 as we were beginning the Answers in Genesis ministry here in the United States. I saw the incredibly lifelike dinosaurs Buddy sculpted in his Ohio barn, and I immediately realized the potential they had for the Creation Museum vision I had. Buddy and Kay were both eager to see Buddy’s work used in a Bible-upholding museum—and that’s exactly what happened. Dinosaur Den, one of the popular exhibits here at the Creation Museum, features Buddy’s remarkable dinosaur sculptures.
Our bookstore is filled with Buddy’s resources, including CDs of his own original music (including the song, “Jesus Is Alive,” that at one time sat at number 11 on the inspirational country music chart). He plays a wide variety of folk-style instruments (e.g., guitar, mandolin, harmonica) and sings in a down-home-American style that people love. He’s also written children’s books, and his award-winning Amazing Adventures DVDs are a popular choice for families as they seek to equip their children with apologetics and a biblical worldview. I encourage you to check out Buddy’s resources at our online store.
Buddy, congratulations on 20 years with Answers in Genesis! May God bless you for your faithfulness in sharing your gifts and talents for His glory.
Here are a few photos of Buddy receiving his 20-year service award from me in front of the staff on Thursday morning.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
