A Message for the US President and the Supreme Court

by Ken Ham on June 17, 2015

During many of my presentations in churches and at the Creation Museum recently, I have been stating very publicly that Answers in Genesis has a message for the president and the Supreme Court regarding gay “marriage”:

Mr. President and members of the Supreme Court, you did not invent marriage—God did! The Supreme Court, ruled by the Judge who has ultimate and absolute authority, has already decided what marriage is:

And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh.” (Matthew 19:4–6)

AiG stands with the Southern Baptists and their stand on biblical marriage as reported in The Washington Post:

Southern Baptist Convention President Ronnie Floyd told members of the nation’s largest Protestant denomination they must look to God as the final authority in their lives and not the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Our first commitment is to God and his word—nothing else and no one else,” said Floyd, an Arkansas megachurch pastor, speaking Tuesday (June 16) about the court’s impending ruling on same-sex marriage.

“I want to remind everyone today, humbly, the Supreme Court of the United States is not the final authority, nor is the culture itself, but the Bible is God’s final authority about marriage and on this book we stand,” he said, drawing a standing ovation. . . .

“I declare to everyone today, as a minister of the gospel, I will not officiate over any same-sex unions or same-sex marriage ceremonies,” he said. “I completely refuse.”

He said he expects thousands of pastors in the nation to agree with him. . . .

Southern Baptists adopted a resolution “On the Call to Public Witness on Marriage” on Tuesday.

“No matter how the Supreme Court rules, the Southern Baptist Convention reaffirms its unwavering commitment to its doctrinal and public beliefs concerning marriage,” the statement reads.

It adds that “Southern Baptists love our neighbors and extend respect in Christ’s name to all people, including those who may disagree with us about the definition of marriage and the public good.”

Also, you can read about a church that compromised God’s Word in relation to homosexual behavior.

As we think about this important issue and the fact that a number of compromising church leaders have come out recently and said their views of marriage have changed and they now support gay “marriage,” please meditate on God’s Word:

Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven. (Psalms 119:89)

Fallible sinful man’s word may change, but God’s Word never changes.

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. (2 Timothy 4:1–5)
They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead (1 Peter 4:5).
