A Church that Understands the Relevance of Genesis

by Ken Ham on December 3, 2013

At Answers in Genesis, we believe that God has called us to equip the church to defend the faith with excellence. So we’re always encouraged to hear about churches that are standing firmly on the authority of Scripture. The Apostle Peter calls us to do just that:

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. (1 Peter 3:15–16)
Now, I spoke last year at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary, North Carolina. (I blogged about this church last year.) This church is pastored by Dr. Stephen Davey. One of our board members attends Colonial Baptist, where Dr. Davey unapologetically defends a literal understanding of Genesis—and teaches how it’s relevant to the whole Christian faith!

I encourage you to listen to this sermon on the book of Job by Dr. Davey, where he shows his flock the necessity of a historical Genesis. And I urge you to pray for Colonial Baptist Church as its leaders continue to equip believers to answer the skeptical questions of the age.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Ken
