Suffer Little Children

by Ken Ham on June 4, 2013
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 19:14)

Over the past few weeks, I have spoken to thousands of parents at various homeschool conventions. I have also spoken to hundreds and hundreds of their kids as well.

How I praise the Lord for the opportunities he gives us to help equip parents and to teach children the truth of God’s Word—particularly in such a culture that grows increasingly intolerant of biblical Christianity.

I love what John Gill states about Matthew 19:14 concerning children:

It is as if our Lord should say, do not drive away these children from my person and presence; they are lively emblems of the proper subjects of a Gospel church state, and of such that shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: by these I may instruct and point out to you, what converted persons should be, who have a place in my church below, and expect to enter into my kingdom and glory above; that they are, or ought to be, like such children, harmless and inoffensive; free from rancour and malice, meek, modest, and humble; without pride, self-conceit, and ambitious views, and desires of grandeur and superiority.

It was a thrill to be at the baptism of one of our young grandchildren recently and to hear her testimony about trusting Christ. Oh that unbelieving adults would listen to the heart of this child and trust the Lord as she does.

At many of the homeschool conventions where I speak, I also do one presentation especially for kids titled “Dinosaurs, Genesis, and the Gospel.” The rooms are usually packed with kids and their parents as we all learn the truths of God’s Word together. What a joy to see and meet so many young children who just love to hear about God’s Word—and they love to hear about science and all the exciting topics like dinosaurs, Noah’s Flood, etc. We need to teach as many of these children as we can because the secular world is out to capture their hearts and mind for the devil.

I have included some photographs taken at the Teach Them Diligently Homeschool Convention this past Thursday through Saturday in Omaha, Nebraska.

Here is a photograph of the special session for kids:

As usual, people load up on the AiG apologetics resources:

After each of my sessions, there was a long line of parents and kids wanting to talk to me. Many gave me testimonies of how the Lord used the AiG ministry to greatly impact their lives.

This coming weekend I will be speaking at the Christian Home Educators Convention in Anaheim, California.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
