Here is a passage of Scripture for us to ponder this morning:
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.” (Matthew 7:13–20)Recently I warned people on my blog about a speaker involved with Biologos who is producing a curriculum for homeschoolers.
Dr. Georgia Purdom—AiG speaker, researcher, and writer—also included an item about this on her facebook:
I love my job but sometimes it is so depressing to see the rampant compromise that is going on in the church on a daily basis. The link is to a lecture given by Peter Enns (theistic evolutionist associated with BioLogos) at a Christian college. It’s worth it to watch to see that compromise doesn’t stop in Genesis. The last point on his last slide is “Theology is provisional.” I think that says it all.Someone then wrote the following comment in response:
I just want to say thank you to those of you who stood firm ---and for the awesome ministry of AIG. I am reminded to pray for you yet again. As we repent & God opens our eyes to this false 'Christianity' that glorifies man & the world's kingdom & humanly imagined 'solutions'---we have a place to go for Answers that ARE biblical & that DO glorify God. --------In fact, God be praised, He has used your ministry to confront many of us starving & feebly flailing in such churches ----with Truth and the need for repentance, and to flee to Jesus & separate from places that make starving to death soooooo comfortable to the flesh & remaining sin. We know about sorting goats & sheep ---but it's tough seeing it play out before our eyes. And we know that Satan has a dreadful purpose for the Consort & that he hates the Bride ---but, again, it's really hard to see it playing out.I have had so many people at the homeschool convention come and thank me for informing them about such compromise. They said they would not want to purchase materials produced by such compromisers, and they wouldn’t want their children exposed to such false teaching. Many pleaded with me to let them know about other such people so they can be prepared.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
