In yesterday’s blog post, I shared some photographs from AiG’s Bethlehem’s Blessings (live nativity program) at the Creation Museum. The third and fourth live nativity programs are this Friday and Saturday evenings (beginning at 6:00 p.m.). It is free and—I believe—highly unique in this nation. You can obtain more details from the Creation Museum website.
Here are some more photographs taken last week:
Yes, these men decided to avoid the “usual” type of celebration and spirited the groom away for a two-day trip with the Creation Museum as their destination—but the groom was kept in the dark. To add to the uniqueness of this event they decided to come in costume. The groom, Jared Wizener, didn’t learn of the destination or wardrobe plans until his friends came to his room in costume and presented him with his own get up. The fun-loving group is from Zion Christian Church in Troy Michigan.
The wedding of Jared Wizener and his bride, Dianna, will be held on January 1. One has to wonder, though, what his choice of wardrobe will be!
With the coming of 2010, we at Answers in Genesis desire to send a renewed clear call (1 Corinthians 14:8) for God’s people to stand unashamedly and uncompromisingly on the Bible in our culture.
While we are commanded to proclaim the gospel and give answers for the hope that is ours in Christ (1 Peter 3:15), we are ever mindful that it is God’s Word that convicts and is “sharper than any two-edged sword” (Hebrews 4:12). It is God’s Word that “shall not return unto me [God] void” (Isaiah 55:11). And “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17).
Right now we are preparing a national media campaign (to be launched in January 2010), created solely from Scripture. Bible verses will touch millions of people across the U.S. and around the world through our TV ads, billboards, and other key outlets. They will tackle the various cultural and moral issues of our day, including “gay” marriage, abortion, the state of our nation, creation vs. evolution, racism, and more.
Answers in Genesis is anticipating a nationwide movement that will help bring America back to the foundational truths of the Bible.
We will share more with you later about this national media campaign and its specific theme (I think you will find the theme to be exciting and compelling—and much needed during these challenging times). Right now, we ask that you join us in prayer that God’s blessing will be upon this endeavor.
We are asking churches and leaders to pray specifically for a TV shoot that will take place on December 20 and 21. Most importantly, pray that God’s Word would go forth with certainty and that fruit would remain. We urge you to go to the AiG Prayer Website to sign up as a prayer partner if you haven’t already done so.
I will yet plead with youThanks for stopping by and thanks for praying, Ken(Jeremiah 2:9) Wherefore I will yet plead with you, says the LORD, and with your children's children will I plead.
Sharing our faith is not a cold, sterile presentation of the gospel—it is a pleading with the lost to not go to hell as the Holy Spirit directs us.
Answers in Genesis is an apologetics ministry, dedicated to helping Christians defend their faith and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ.
