Andrew Snelling on Research Activities at Answers in Genesis

by Ken Ham on August 21, 2009

You’ve probably heard the claim by many evolutionists that creationists do no real research—and are not qualified. Of course, creation groups like the Institute for Creation Research and the Creation Research Society have been doing solid research for many decades.

For its part, Answers in Genesis, which is only 15 years old, has been active in creation research. This week, Dr. Andrew Snelling (PhD in geology) gave our staff a summary of the activities of our AiG faculty. Here you see two of the PowerPoint slides that Dr. Snelling showed when he gave an update to our staff about various research projects. These frames refer to fossils from Mazon Creek (now in our Creation Museum’s collection) and mounds built by blue-green algae called stromatolites—they are the subject of a joint research investigation by Dr. Snelling and Dr. Georgia Purdom, our molecular geneticist, as they are comparing the few living examples with the many fossil examples to be sure that the fossil mounds are truly fossilized stromatolites.

Another Scientist Busy at AiG

One of our other brilliant PhD scientists is Dr. Jason Lisle, our astrophysicist (many of you have seen one of his planetarium programs inside our Creation Museum).

On Thursday, Dr. Lisle spoke to our AiG staff about the visit made by the 285 atheists/agnostics to our museum two weeks ago, and he gave the staff a short presentation on the topic of logical fallacies that atheists and others can make. Dr. Lisle gave a talk inside the museum the day the atheists visited. (If you would like to hear the full lecture that Dr. Lisle gave two weeks ago, where several dozen atheists attended, go to yesterday’s blog post.)

I am in Japan on a speaking tour right now—a report will be coming soon about this exciting opportunity we have over the next few days to get the creation/gospel message distributed throughout Japan.

Devotion

The Voice of the Creator

(Psalm 19:1–4) The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth.

No Japanese, Aborigine, Arabian, Chinese, Angolean, or Chilean cannot hear the Lord Jesus, as there is no speech or language that can’t hear the Creator’s voice.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
