Over the years, AiG has seen hundreds upon hundreds of volunteers do countless hours of work for the AiG ministry. Over 1000 volunteers helped build bridges, paint, construct decks, and do a myriad of other tasks to help the Creation Museum open last year.
We are thrilled with the volunteer help we receive on a daily basis. In fact, we need many more volunteers—so please feel free to sign up online if you believe you can volunteer in some way—and specially if you can be a regular volunteer.
This week we have a number of volunteers doing various tasks:
First is a Hawaiian group from Waipio Grace Brethren Church. They prepared for months to get ready for their trip by studying about the AiG ministry and watching Demolishing Strongholds DVDs so they could give correct answers in case visitors asked them questions. They were introduced to the ministry by AiG speaker Carl Kerby when he went over to speak in Hawaii—and when Carl was on vacation with Masami, his wife. Frank L. Figueroa Jr., the pastor, became friends with Carl, who encouraged him to attend our 2004 Creation College. Carl K. was also able to speak at their school, too. Church member Nate organized this mission trip with 11 people coming to northern Kentucky. They are also going to man a booth at the Spirit Song Music Festival at nearby King’s Island Amusement Park in Cincinnati this week and promote the Creation Museum–they not only had to pay for the booth, but had to buy their own 3-day tickets to be at the booth. I have included a photograph of the Hawaiian group as they were introduced at staff meeting yesterday—and three other photos of various members of the team.
From Pennsylvania, Dr. Steve and Ruth Carter are also volunteering. Steve is a retired medical doctor and speaks and presents creation talks in his area. I’ve included a photograph of Steve and Ruth and one of Steve working in the gardens.
From Australia, Janah (from Maryborough, Queensland), on her way home from England, is volunteering for a couple of months! Lately we seem to have Australian visitors almost every week!
A selection of encouraging emails received recently:
Having recently adopted three older children from the American foster care system, my husband and I have been astonished at how thoroughly indoctrinated in the lies of evolution our kids were by the second grade. “Line upon line, precept upon precept,” we have sought ways of reinforcing God’s Word and His truth to them. AiG’s magazine [Answers], books, and—just last weekend—a trip to the Creation Museum have been major tools in turning their hearts toward God. As you’ve said, “If we don’t believe Genesis 1:1, we won’t have grounds to believe the rest of the Bible either!” For our scientific son this has been especially apparent. Your resources and museum are worth every penny! Thank you for strengthening the faith of believers like us and helping us reach our lost children.
I just graduated from high school, and I’ll be a freshman in college in the fall. The reason I’m writing is to thank you for your outstanding and insightful works in advancing literal creation science. I first attended one of your seminars in Greensboro, [North Carolina], many years ago. I then watched your Answers DVD series. Needless to say, I’ve never been the same. Since then, I’ve read many of your books and watched other DVD series. You provided me with hard scientific data, Bible verses, and explanations for questions that I’d heard asked before but had no answers to. The work that Answers in Genesis does is so important, and I can’t tell you enough what your writings and research have meant to me and my family. I’m planning on double majoring in economics and neuroscience in hopes of someday becoming a doctor. You’ve given me the tools to be a Christian AND a science major. Thanks you so much for everything you do. I am forever grateful.
Hello, just wanted to say that our youth group came to the museum on Saturday, July 5, and we all had a wonderful time. I still can’t believe that we have something that wonderful in Kentucky, and we just found out about it. The price was good for what we all got to see. I think everyone’s favorite was the planetarium. It was totally awesome! You can expect us to return some time, and we will be telling everyone to take their families there. Thanks for the great shows and the friendly workers. Everyone was there to help us in any and every way. You guys are the best. (Youth Leader)
Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! (Isaiah 52:6–7)
There is one name that the Jews never consider as possibly the name of God, and it is the name of the Lord Jesus Christ; ours is to bring this good news to them.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
