Noted columnist (Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, New York Times), professor (Pepperdine University), presidential speech writer (Nixon, Ford) and well-known Hollywood actor Ben Stein (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, plus many other movies) is the on-screen host of Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, a new documentary sure to earn mixed reviews, most notably the consternation of Darwinists. Expelled is set to release across America this coming February and, based on pre-release materials we’ve seen, the public education establishment will not be happy with Stein or the documentary film. (For more on the movie, please see Dr. Georgia Purdom’s recent article.)
The program is high quality and apparently documents the bias faced by proponents of the Intelligent Design Movement and, according to a newsletter sent to us this week, its producers have launched a new website and out-of-the-ordinary promotional campaign. The website is “in response to feedback regarding the upcoming 2008 motion picture release, Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed starring Ben Stein. The site is designed for students, teachers, pastors, youth leaders, and organizations who want to learn more about the controversial issues surrounding the debate between Darwinism and intelligent design. The site also features free resource downloads and information about events.” One of the “events” the website will be promoting is the Expelled tour, which will include ongoing coverage of a “large boldly decorated bus” as it travels across America to create awareness of the film.
I don’t know where the Expelled tour intends to stop along their route, but I’d like to offer an open invitation right here to Mr. Stein and those traveling on the bus. Stop by as our guests for a few hours and tour the Creation Museum. (In addition to giving them an education unlike any other, just think how much publicity for both the film and AiG Creation Museum that could elicit!)
