Steeling the mind

A popular series of seminars I participate in each year are the Steeling the Mind Bible conferences. The conferences, which are sponsored by Compass, an evangelical nondenominational ministry, are held four times a year in different cities. The topics include talks on apologetics, biblical doctrine, prophecy, signs of the times, and Bible basics. This last conference was held in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and included speakers Dave Reagan, Chuck Missler, Mike Gendron, Bill Koenig (White House Correspondent), and Frank Peretti. Past speakers have included Ken Ham, John Morris, Henry Morris, Kay Arthur, Ed Hindson, David Barton, Kirk Cameron, and many others.

The conferences generally last one day, and each speaker has 50 minutes to do their presentation. Typically 600 to 2,000 people attend these conferences. At the Coeur d’Alene conference I presented a talk on apologetics and the origin of man. The audience was amazed at the lack of evidence to support the evolution of man. During my talk, I showed that for many, a belief in evolution is not about scientific evidence, but rather a willful rejection of a Creator God.

To find out where future conferences will be held go to the Compass web site: www.compass.org.
