Freedom of Choice Act

U.S. President Barack Obama has promised pro-abortion groups like Planned Parenthood that he will help pass the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA). This Act would override every state and federal pro-life law that has been passed since Roe v. Wade.

While versions of FOCA have been pushed for twenty years, pro-life supporters have stopped each one. Under Obama, FOCA is “likely to be implemented bit by bit, rather than in one package,” predicts Wendy Wright, president of Concerned Women for America.

If passed, parental notification would no longer be required, partial birth (late term) abortions would be legal and have no limitations, taxpayers would likely fund abortions, and healthcare facilities and possibly faith-based hospitals would be forced to perform abortions.
