Why Does Creation Groan?

Christians look forward to the day when there’ll be a new heavens and earth. But why do we need this restoration?

Well, it goes back to Genesis. That’s a theme you’ll notice on this program—and that’s because all of our major Christian doctrines ultimately go back to Genesis!

You see, after Adam sinned this world was cursed, ushering in death and suffering. Creation groans because of sin but the new creation will be freed from this curse.

But if Genesis isn’t literal history, as many Christians believe, then why would God need to restore his creation? You can’t reject a literal Genesis without destroying other doctrines.
