Today we’ve unprecedented access to God’s Word. But it wasn’t always this way!
In the early church, no one had all 27 books of the New Testament at one time. Eventually, the books were gathered but, since each book had to be hand copied, it was very expensive. Finally, the printing press was invented, revolutionizing access to God’s Word.
But the Bible needed to be translated into the common tongue so anyone could read it—but that was illegal! Many of the translators were martyred. They knew the risk but did it anyway because God’s Word is worth dying for!
Praise the Lord for the incredible access we now have to his Word!
