In First Corinthians chapter 6, Paul says homosexuals are among those who won’t inherit God’s kingdom. And in 1 Timothy chapter 1, he says homosexuals must be convicted by the Law, which clearly condemns their behavior. But was it just a mistranslation in 1946 that supposedly gave us the word “homosexual” in our Bibles, as some claim?

Well, in those two verses, Paul uses a Greek word that he coined. It’s a compound of two other Greek words and literally means “men who lie with men.” So, no, it’s not a mistranslation.

People often twist the Scriptures to excuse sin. We must love people enough to urge them to believe God’s clear Word.
