Insulting Animals?

Is insulting someone by calling them a “pig,” “sloth,” or “chicken” actually insulting animals? Well, the animal activist group PETA thinks so!

They recently tweeted that such language “reinforces the myth that humans are superior to other animals.”

Now, PETA starts with evolution. So they build a very different worldview because they’ve a very different starting point. When we take their ideas to Scripture, we see PETA’s worldview is anti-biblical.

We’re made in the very image of God and given dominion over creation. So, yes, we are “superior” to the animals! Now, that doesn’t mean we sinfully lord that over creation. No, we kindly rule over God’s creation.
