In Luke chapter seventeen, Jesus speaks of his second coming and the judgment that will come at that time. Now he says:
“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.”
Jesus treated the flood as a global catastrophe and a real historical event! Just as the judgment on that wicked world was global, so will Jesus’ coming judgment be.
Those who treat Genesis as myth, or the flood as local, ignore both Jesus’ word in Genesis and in the New Testament.
