Homing pigeons are renowned for finding their way home from wherever they’re released, no matter how far away. So how do they do this? Well, scientists aren’t really sure, but there are a few clues.

It’s believed pigeons use earth’s magnetic field to navigate. The skin that lines their upper beak has magnetic particles attached to nerves. This allows pigeons to create a complex three-dimensional map. This likely allows them to detect slight changes to the angle of the magnetic field. This may get them home.

How did this complex process—one we don’t even fully understand—come about? Well, it certainly didn’t evolve! It has the fingerprints of the Creator.
